Short answers to the most common questions about VpsMonitor.Pro. Still stuck? Email support@vpsmonitor.pro.
What is VpsMonitor.Pro?
It is a lightweight Windows desktop (system-tray) app that monitors a Linux VPS over SSH — CPU, memory, swap, IO-wait, network, security, databases, mail and services — in real time, with scripted health checks, email and Telegram alerts, security auto-block and AI-assisted diagnostics.
Do I need to install anything on my server?
No. VpsMonitor.Pro is agentless: it connects with your existing SSH credentials and reads the data it needs. There is no daemon or package to install on the VPS.
Which servers and control panels are supported?
It works on generic Linux over SSH and is specially optimized for SPanel/ScalaHosting on the AlmaLinux/CentOS family — many checks understand SPanel's paths (accounts, mail logs, vhosts, per-account stats).
What is the difference between the Single and Unlimited plans?
Single monitors one server (one SSH profile). Unlimited lets you add as many servers as you like. Both include two years of updates. You can upgrade from Single to Unlimited at any time.
What do I get for the price, and what happens after two years?
A one-time purchase gives you a perpetual license plus two years of updates. After two years the app keeps working; to keep receiving new versions you can buy the "Additional 2-year updates" add-on (€49).
How do I receive my license after I pay?
Immediately after a successful card payment, a username (license key) and password are generated automatically and emailed to you. You sign in with those in the app.
Does the app keep working offline?
Yes. The license is checked at every launch, but no internet connection is not a problem — the app keeps running offline. It only stops if your license validity has actually expired (verified online).
What operating system do I need?
Windows 10 or Windows 11. The .NET 8 runtime is bundled in the installer, so there is nothing else to download.
Is my server data sent to you?
No. The app connects directly from your computer to your server over SSH. Your server credentials and all monitoring data stay on your machine — they are never sent to us. Only your license key and password are sent, to validate the license.
Do you charge VAT and can I get an invoice?
Prices are shown net of VAT. The correct VAT is added at checkout based on your country; EU businesses with a valid VAT number are reverse-charged (no VAT). A proper PDF invoice is issued automatically.
How do alerts work?
You can enable email (SMTP) and Telegram alerts for high CPU or memory, downed services, and newly detected attackers. Thresholds and channels are configured in the app's Settings.
Can I get a refund?
If the app does not work as described, email support@vpsmonitor.pro within 14 days of purchase and we will help, including a refund where appropriate.
What is the best VPS monitoring tool for Windows?
If you want to monitor a Linux VPS from a Windows PC, VpsMonitor.Pro is built for exactly that: an agentless Windows desktop app that connects over SSH (nothing installed on the server) and watches metrics, security, MySQL, mail and per-account load, with alerts and AI diagnostics. Most alternatives are server-hosted agents or browser dashboards rather than a native Windows app.
How do I monitor a Linux VPS from Windows?
Install VpsMonitor.Pro on Windows 10/11, enter your server's SSH details once (host, port, username and a password or private key), and it starts polling the server and running health checks — no software is installed on the VPS. A free SSH client like MobaXterm can be used to test the connection first.
Is it safe to give a monitoring app SSH access to my server?
With VpsMonitor.Pro, yes by design: your SSH credentials are stored only on your own computer and used only to connect — they are never sent to us or anyone else. Monitoring uses read-only commands; the few actions it can take (such as blocking an attacker) are explicit and confirmed, and the installer is code-signed by a verified publisher.
How is VpsMonitor.Pro different from Netdata, Zabbix or Grafana?
Those are powerful server-hosted, agent-based tools you install and configure on each server. VpsMonitor.Pro is an agentless Windows desktop app — nothing runs on the server — that also covers security, mail and database forensics and adds AI diagnostics. See the full comparison.
Can I monitor SPanel, cPanel or unmanaged servers?
Yes. VpsMonitor.Pro is optimized for SPanel/ScalaHosting and works with cPanel and plain (unmanaged) Linux VPS too. It connects over standard SSH, so the control panel — or no panel at all — does not matter.
Do I need root access?
Root gives the fullest picture and is needed for actions like firewall blocking or service restarts, but you can connect with any SSH user — the monitoring commands are read-only. Many checks work without root; the action features need it.
Can one person monitor several client servers?
Yes — the Unlimited plan lets you add many servers as separate profiles, each with its own settings, history and alerts, all from one Windows PC. It is a common setup for freelancers and agencies.
What does the AI do?
You can send a check's output or a "who is loading the server" snapshot to an AI (Claude or ChatGPT, with your own API key) for a plain-language verdict and the exact commands to fix the issue. Nothing changes automatically — the AI advises, you decide.
