Stop SSL certificates from expiring unnoticed on your server

The problem

One morning a customer calls: their site shows “Your connection is not private”. The Let’s Encrypt renewal silently failed weeks ago — a changed DNS record, a firewall rule, a broken cron — and nobody noticed until the certificate actually expired. On a server with dozens of domains, checking each certificate by hand is hopeless.

The solution

VpsMonitor.Pro’s SSL expiry check scans every certificate on the server on a schedule and lists them sorted soonest-first: days left, expiry date, domain, issuer and file path. The result is graded — green when everything has comfortable margin, orange when something expires soon, red when a certificate is about to lapse or already has.

Because the check feeds the same alerting pipeline as everything else, a failing renewal becomes an email in your inbox weeks before users see a warning — with the exact domain and certificate file already identified. You fix the renewal once, instead of fire-fighting an outage.

The check runs automatically every few hours; you can also run it on demand with one click whenever you migrate a site or change DNS.

Frequently asked questions

Does it only check Let’s Encrypt certificates?

No — it lists every certificate it finds on the server regardless of issuer, including paid certificates installed manually.

Will I get an alert before expiry?

Yes. When the check turns red, the “any check went red” alert emails you — and the check output names the exact domain and days remaining.

What if a certificate is renewed but Apache still serves the old one?

That shows up too: the check reads what is actually on disk, and the services view lets you reload/restart Apache from the app after the fix.
